‘The 2007 Election Primary is over. About 1/3 of the registered vote population of Bradford County voted.
I am running for a third term on the Sayre Borough Council. It wasn’t my original intention, but some friends whose opinion I respect made a good argument for me to continue on Council. So, there I was on the Republican ballot for a four year seat on the Council. My election was uncontested – I was the only name in a category with four seats up for election.
The Sayre Morning Times newspaper reported that I received 88% (360 out of 409) of the vote. The results of the write-in won’t be available until later this week. A man named Robert Dydynski is the only write-in I am aware of at this moment. Mr. Dydynski serves as one of Sayre’s representative on the Athens-Sayre Joint Code Board and previously applied to fill a vacancy created by the departure of Suzanne Kaiden last year.
The Democratic ballot had three individuals: Henry Farley (who was appointed to Mrs. Kaiden’s seat) and a prior council member; Gene Cerutti, who also applied along with Mr. Dydynski for Mrs. Kaiden’s position; and Dan Spears. I don’t know much about him other than he is a member of Company 1 of the Sayre Fire Department.
So, barring any action on the write-in front, there are four candidates for four council seats in the November General Election.
